The Football Association Community Shield is English football's annual match contested at Wembley Stadium between the champions of the previous Premier League season and the holders of the FA Cup. If the Premier League champions also won the FA Cup, then the league runners-up provide the opposition.

Yeah it was a really great season for ManCity. Let’s see if they can repeat or even topping it 2023/24! Thanks for the clarification & heads up @huja It’s been always a hot contested ( kinda ) season opener; how many red cards over the past years? Many I think.

Forget Premier League. This is the ONLY result that matters. If you knew how grave our situation is it’s short of miraculous. Unfortunately I was 120 miles away at a niece’s wedding.

The financial situation of all but a handful of clubs is dire.

agreed and the whole of UK professional football needs to be repurposed and if necessary part time for lower leagues. Our circumstances are difficult to explain but summed up by narcissistic property developer chairman.

However the raw emotion of what is means to be a fifth tier English league club getting close to 6,000 through the gate is captured here. If I was to do a Vlog it would be nowhere near as professional but with identical manic passion

Out for a run and missed the first half of the Community Shield. Scoreless at the half.

City with more possession but Arsenal with the only two shots on goal.

    City break through at 77'.

ARS 0-1 Man City. Substitute Cole Palmer scores on KDB's assist. Both players recently subbed in.

Walker and Partey clash heads during injury time and are being tended to. City trying to see this through on the strength of the only goal of the match.

    About six minutes remain.
