Buying a snowboard in Hong Kong?

Anyone know of anywhere to buy a snowboard in Hong Kong? And how the prices compare with Australia?

    Maybe this place: www.xgamehk.com

Overall, HK would be a bit of a crap place to buy snowboards considering that it never snows here so the market is tiny.

Oz tends to be an expensive place, but at least people actually snowboard there.

Hey Urz, How has the snowboard hunt been going...
Heading to Japan for a snow trip and found cheap snow clothes at Stanley Market in a shop called sun and moon. Snowboard pants for $150 HKD..
From NZ and snow gear is never that cheap, so stocked up..
They also had loads of Quicksilver snow jackets etc..
Just thought you would like to know..

Thanks all - the snowboard is not for me. A friend of mine is visiting HK on his way to Japan and wants to buy a new board.

I was thinking it might be better if he gets it in Australia instead since the market there is bigger (no snow here, not many places nearby either, so prob small market and expensive!) but said I'd ask around. I don't board myself so might be completely wrong

if he's going to Japan then that's a pretty good place to get his board. Now we're into 2010 they'll be selling this season's boards off cheaply as the Japanese only like the newest models. I got my Burton Custom around this time and was 50% off. However if he is a big guy and by this I mean over 6feet he's going to struggle to get a board his size in Japan

One thing to note if your friend decides to get a board here- he should know exactly what he wants (brand/model/length) rather than rely on local sports stores for advice.

I've found that sports stores are usually staffed by exceptionally clueless assistants who have no understanding of the sports they cater to and end up pushing completely inappropriate products. In Oz, the sales people generally know at least a little about the sport.

There are a shop in 2/F, 184 Sai Yeung Choi Street South, Mongkok who sold snowboard stuffs - like snowboard hardware and snowboard wear. They also have waxing services. They import freebord - like skate board but play like snowboard.
