    Fishing in Hong Kong

    Hello guys,
Does somebody know any good spots to fish in Hong-Kong (quiet, nice environment, easy access...)? And also where it is possible to rent / buy some equipment?
    Thanks

There was a thread about this late last year and they tried to organise fishing trips. Try a search and you should find what you are looking for.

you can go to the peaceful reservoirs but you need a fishing license, which is very easy to get.

there's a fishing tackle shop in sheung wan and it has few branches - trinity fishing equipment co.

Interesting blog, and all the more so coz illustrated with pics.

I'm not into fishing at all, but, on trips out in the NT, have often come across folks fishing off scenic parks, reservoirs and ol' rural areas.

Yeah, as you say, a minority of 'locals' seem oblivious to senselessness of keeping the smaller fish - not to eat - but as a token trophy (?) for their time spent fishing... BUT, many HKers are there also just to enjoy a lovely day out, 'fresh air' and all that; and we see a fair number of them eventually let their caught fishies out after a bit inside their pail. (The kiddies love to marvel and count 'em!)

Best luck with your new blog. Thanks for sharin'.

P.S. Somewhere in Shau Kei Wan (the main road there?), there's a shop that sells fishing gear and stuff, and they also advertise renting out small boats by the half-day, so a friend said. The owner's apparently a huge fishing enthusiast and loves talking 'bout the hobby (I've heard him enthuse, in Canto tho'). You know which one I'm referring to? Just wondering.
