Just because 120 sign up does not mean 120 turn up.... but I take the point, we usually join harder hikes because they get many fewer people turning up Up to 30 it's companionable ... after that it gets irritating.

I thought of you as I looked at the lovely weather - and I could have come as it turned out once my boss bothered to reply about 10am - but spent the day weighing my hiking equipment instead to try and come up with the absolute minimum for my Swiss trip......!!!!

Personally I'll stick with the peace and quiet of a handful of people on empty trails during the week - for me that's far preferable to traipsing with 120 other people over Dragon's back.
And now there is a (belated) additional hike on Saturday with a limit of 20 people and a nice big hill to climb

Yes - I saw that - I'm tempted, but I have a bit of a clash with a cricket team end of season game and "after party" on Friday which would somewhat hamper my abilities on Saturday morning...

My legs just wouldn't work well enough for 500m up steps in the company of a group of serious athletes (many of whom seem to be long distance trail runners) after cricket and several ales the day before. And 10am at Tuen Mun would require me to get up well before 8am, which is hardly "late rising"!

Hmm - the 961 takes about 45 mins according to one of my colleagues so that makes you a slow dresser

And as I'm leading it, we will NOT be going at a fast pace (I note who joined, I'm not sure what he's going to make of one of my hikes given the difference in speed between us!)
