Classic Car restoration in Hong Kong. Anyone recommend a garage?

    Hello

Looking for a good garage to work on my classic car. Anyone with good experience of a garage for body work and engine rebuilds please pass on the details.

    Thanks

In my experience you are going to have to use a couple of different places. There is no one stop shop. American Body Shop in Kwun Tun does a really good job. They had my fenders off and the interior stripped before they painted my truck. Its really nice. As for the engine, often, if its a UK car, then you are going to have to order the parts from the UK yourself. Even the dealer could not get the parts i wanted and the ones they could were fives times as much than if I ordered from overseas and paid the shipping to HK. You might want to buy a rebuilt engine block. I had a whole gearbox and transfer case shipped over from the UK.

BTW, what kind of car are you restoring?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm looking for a garage that would cut out all of the rust and weld in new metal and treat it before applying a drop of paint. Would the American Body Shop go to such lengths? I've already paid for one blow over paint job in Hk hence trying to find somewhere that would do the job properly.

    Thanks.

Yeah, they should be able to do that Call Mr. So 2757-0566/0661

They had to weld part of my frame before they painted it.

Thanks, I'll give him a call. Do they treat the new metal properly? Etch primer, primer etc before the paint goes on? Also, would be good if they had shot blasting facilities to get back to bare fresh metal.
