If you're buying from a shop, they'll usually offer to setup 3rd party insurance for you.

yeh its true.. but basically that company only has a couple of offices ( mong kok and SSP i think)

    - so when u thru wit the insurance or change bikes then u got to deal with them...

they are very local - so the service is a bit crap - for instance I changed bikes and had to go to the shop to pick up covernote to transfer ownership... i called them first - they do dumb ass stuff like dont tell u have to pay cash until u are in their office... . they wouldnt even make the cover note until I was standin there waiting for like 25 minutes....

there's not 'relationship' with them - so wont prepare stuff in advance... like u cant jus call them and get stuff done..

I would avoid them an use sabrina... much easier - and price better if not same... can get the paperwork via email - an bank transfer - welcome to the 21st century...

Anyone know a place to buy and install Pirelli Tyres, specifically Angel GT? Tried Man Wai and Kelly Motors, no luck...well Man Wai said they do but then never replied.

as u ask on the otehr thread,, u need to buy learners insurance for the year and produce that certificate when u go for your test.. no certificate then no test.

Yep but first I need a bike and then I'll buy a learner insurance. :-)

    First registration tax

    Hi folks,

i am looking at shipping my 2008 Hyosung GV650 over to HK and have been quoted a great price for shipping.

I see the vehicle first registration tax for motorcycles is 35%

    35% of what???

It mentions "published retail value" and 25% annual depreciation etc but when i search for my bike it says no records shown.

I have owned the bike for around 2 months and the purchase price was $3500NZD.

I am ready to pull the trigger and ship it over just need to know for sure what i'll be paying to register.

Also, i will be working in HK using the 6-month visa on arrival on a British Passport. My employer said they will process my work permit after 3 months as i will be on secondment initially.

    Any help greatly appreciated!!!

PS. Any Hyosung dealers in HK? What would the same bike cost me in HK does anyone know?
