I don't think it's a problem, as long as you are comfortable to do 8-figure within the space limits for the test.
The size for 8-figure is approximately 5.6m x 11.2m on a very small slope.
Causeway Bay location for 8-figure is here: https://goo.gl/maps/VRRXN9c9UhLBHRMVA
Reach out to TD if in doubt!

I bought it 23K from a private owner, not a shop. It's old but sturdy and l like the look. it's also very light and easy to handle.

Thanks! Actually, I took part C once but failed. I had no problem with figure 8 on the Suzuki GN125. Should be able to do it with a FTR223 and a bit of practice. I will reach out to TD to know if I can use the Honda FTR223 for the test.

Wink Recommended mechanic in CWB/ Tin hau area

    Hi,
Can you recommend a good mechanic around Causeway Bay or Tin Hau?
I know Kelly Motors but never tried their services.

Also, anyone riding with L plates in the area?
We can form an L gang! (The L's Angels)

Guys, what's the speed limit on the L plates?
Is it 50km/hr everywhere or does it follow the same rules as the P license (follow the signs, but never exceed the 70km/hr limit)?

Since highways and tunnels are off limits for L plates, I am guessing it's 50km/h all the way. I checked on the TD website but couldn't find the info.

It's generally very difficult to find good mechanics in HK, meaning a mechanic you can trust not to stick it to you, and who would recommend the right repairs at the right time, not more, and not less.
Being around HK for 15+ years, I learned to keep track of my own required repairs, fluid changes, and learn how to inspect your brakes, fluid levels, battery health, etc.
I used Kelly Motors for many years back in early / late 201x, quite decent and honest, and pretty efficient for routine repairs, but as soon as you get a bigger job it's a money sink. Good luck!

What type of bike are you riding?

I used Kelly Motors for a used bike inspection. I think they did a very thorough job.

Since this thread has been revived I'll ask: has anyone tried off road riding in with MX Club (mxclub.com.hk)? I'm thinking of trying it this winter. Their facilities look quite nice on the website.

Used to ride Suzuki SV650 - Not riding anymore since 2019.

Re. MX Club, I only heard good things, but haven't tried myself

Today my 2nd attempt for road test succeeded. So total journey from initial registration to P plates took 16 months.
After failing 1st attempt I did one class with Moto & Cafe Motorbike Driving School (search for them in FB). It was useful but sometimes was contradictory with what I’ve learned from the Examiner. They even said my bike doesn’t fit for the exam (it has non-original exhaust pipe, recommended to take out rear box for the exam) but actually bike was just fine as is 2 times. Also they didn’t suggest to use engine breaking when going downhill, though examiner failed me for that on my first attempt (for that and for one more thing - remember to follow HK rule “don’t back off”). They also can help with expedited “Early repeater” registration for a fee, otherwise it is a challenge to rebook your exam earlier. I’ve used that as well.
These 2 videos have English subtitles and are somewhat useful for preparing to the road test in Causeway Bay:

I’m offloading my Honda MSX now, so any learners you might check details here:
