Automatic is actually very easy to drive, and will be much more suitable than a manual in HK's stop start traffic.

I can drive a manual fine, but my god automatic is so much easier. You can eat a burger or sip a drink or just chill out on hill starts etc. You don't need to be nervous at all about driving one.. apart from the fact that once you drive a manual again you'll be missing the auto.
Manuals are rare in HK. I love manuals but in the city auto is easier (but less pleasant). Wish I had an auto sometimes in the Nt where you can really make use of it.

Or on HK island with all those hilly roads. Outside of sports car though, you won't find many manuals around in HK. Probably 90%+ of all cars in HK are autos, plus it I suppose it can be a bit of a hassle to drive manual through the congestion.
But speaking of sports car, maybe I'm just old-schooled, but in my view, a car isn't a true sports car if its not a manual. Yes, nowadays for high end performance cars you can get autos with better performance than manual in 0-60 time or just can shift gear so incredibly fast that it cannot be detected by normal human senses. But still, there is just something missing without that sheer fun of shifting your own manual gear.

WC-I think what you are saying is that with a manual you are in total control of your car. I could never trust an auto in, for example, a Porsche.
Ah I might be able to help but its a 2.0, have a mate whos selling a manual conv Peugeot.
If your interested let me know (PM) I will provide you his contact details.2004 Peugeot 206cc 2.0 (MANUAL gearbox)... $28k

Precisely.
Although I guess I should qualified my statement a bit. For regular driving in your seven seater on the congested roads of HK, an auto is actually preferable to a manual. Its not really fun to drive a manual down Nathan road in Mongkok with all those traffic lights and jams for example.
However, for weekend pleasure driving through some of the winding roads in NT, then absolutely a manual-equipped sports car is the way to go.
Unfortunately, given the cost of owning a car in this town, not many people can afford (or want to pay) for 2 cars in HK. So a compromise is usually in order. Finding a car that can fulfill your practical commuting needs as well as offering driving pleasure would be the solution. Hence that is why I drive a 3 series.
