Can anyone explain to me why I seem to be spending the same amount on gas over the last several months despite the massive drop in international oil price? Do the tycoons have a monopoly on petrol stations in HK like everything else?

Prices have come down by about $2 per litre . Government charges HK$6.00 ( about) per litre in tax.
More like HK$800 every 2 days.
Back in September I was paying $16.74 / Lr vs my last top up which was $14.14 / Lr so definitely seeing a decent decrease in petrol prices.
$800 for petrol every 2 days seems very high. What are you driving and how much do you drive?
A lot of trips for the kids up and down the Peak in a 2009 Elgrand.
Sort of besides the point though. I genuinely am interested to know why the price hasn't moved much in HK. My driver claims it's because the retail stations stockpile fuel and need to clear through old inventory.
