Can you ride a 3 wheeled bike on full car license in HK like you can in EU/UK ?

Hi, I have just joined the forum as I will be moving from Beijing to HK in August and I will buy either a motorbike or a three wheeler such as the Piaggio MP3 500 LT or Gillera Fuoco. The main reason for getting a 3 wheeler would be so that my wife can use it on her car license hence the topic question. In the EU it is allowed to drive these vehicles on a car license as they are classed as trikes but I don't know if it is the same in HK. If it isn't then I will probably stick to 2 wheels in the form of a mid sized scooter for practical purposes, if anyone has experience or info regarding these 3 wheeled bikes it would be much appreciated.

Tricycles are classified along with motorcycles. Separate licence from a car one.

Ok thanks, looks like I'll probably get a 2 wheeler then as they are alot cheaper than the 3 wheelers that don't come up 2nd hand very often.

one question. Does the Rider need to wear a helmet for 3 wheel bike?

Saw a few time Rider ride like a boss(without helmet). There was even once where the LEARN is still on the bike, he even went to get food. Thug life. LOL

did you ride on a 3 wheel tri motorcycle in Beijing? I believe in mainland china, you can do a handstand whilst riding a motorcycle and the local cops won't blink an eyelid

"You and your passenger must wear a safety helmet of approved design which must be securely fastened."
