Lost Canadian Driver's License

So I lost my Ontario License a while back. The license is due to expire in August. I'm going back to visit in September. I've been looking at ways to get it renewed online, ahead of time so I will have it when I get there in September.

I haven't found anything online that's specific to my case, (I do not remember my license number) so looks like I'm gonna have to call ServiceOntario soon. But before I do that, just wondering if anyone's been through this before? Losing your license while away from Canada and replacing it online from HK? TME

Not sure for Ontario but for BC, the process can only begin once you apply in person (for renewal or reissue for lost one) in order to take a latest photo. You can try asking them to mail it to a relative or write a letter to authorize a friend to pick it up on your behalf and then courier it to you (or just keep it with them until you go back to Canada again). But they should take less than 2 weeks maybe plan a longer vacation back home next time?

Last time I renewed my Ontario drivers license I had to show up in person and could not do it over internet. I wasted first morning of my vacation doing this but it was relatively painless except for the time lost.
