    Post motorbike repair install helicoil

    Hello,

I own a Yamaha SR400 (2005), which has a big problem now : the spark plug was jammed on the cylinder head (corrosion/overheat...) and by trying to force it out of the cylinder head, the spark plug broke in half leaving half of it stuck inside
I found online that a common repair is to drill the remains out and put on a thing called helicoil which is a new thread. The only mechanic I know here cannot do it for me because this requires special skills and tooling.
Has anyone faced the same case before ?
Do you have recommendations of repair shops that can do that ? That would be greatly appreciated because my bike is stranded now (and changing a new cylinder head costs around 10k....).

    Thanks !
    Pierre
