Ecclestone also said that the Brazilian and German Grands Prix were also under threat and even speculated that world champion teams Mercedes and Ferrari may leave the sport within the next few years.
Why do I get the feeling none of these venues / teams had much to be grateful about.

    What an arse...

Maybe be replaced by a round of Formula E, which is suited to street circuits and much much cheaper to host.

Isn't F1 going to be more US based since its sale?

    Probably.

The only guaranteed race is the Monaco Grand Prix.

What an arse. As if Singapore had waited all these year for Ecclestone.

Maybe tickets sales are down because they cost an arm and a leg.

Had a great time with my 2 y old at the Macao GP yesterday. Super seats (F3 I am aware) for MOP300.

Very friendly atmosphere and packed with action.

Huge F1 fan here....but let's be honest the last 10 years have been quite boring..........

Perhaps simply a down cycle for motor sports in general . NASCAR is really suffering in the US. Been on a steady decline for five years or so.

    Cant really blame them.
F1 is in a decline for some years now, stifling rules, artificial overtaking, hardly any wheel to wheel action, and the introduction of these hybrid engines was the final nail in the coffin.
But one thing which never changes in F1 is the good ol' bernie..he is eternal.
