Looks the same like the others. Too big. I thought they were planning a smaller car?
It's actually the largest growing vehicle segment, VW jetta, corolla, civic size, as people down size from mid size and large cars.
You might have noticed that small compact cars on offer during the 80's, are now longer & wider. Even the 2017 corolla is pretty close to a late 80's Camry sedan in regard to exterior dimensions.
I'm fine with the size of the small Tesla, any smaller it would be impractical to own for the average family with kids. The K Tail design also offers a LOT more boot space than say, a VW Golf and the like.
430,000 pre ordered cars, that has to be some kind of world record, nice one Mr Musk.

Awesome achievement no doubt - BUT, not technically pre-ordered or a good predictor of how many will be actually pre-ordered when their number comes up. A lot depends on the state of the economy, govt tax breaks and other factors.430,000 pre ordered cars, that has to be some kind of world record, nice one Mr Musk.
At the same time, I have no doubts this will shake up the market in a big way.
I for one am very very muchly sure I'll get in line with my check book - but only after the initial pre-order chaos / deliveries have been sorted out. Assuming that everything else is in good shape and the planets align correctly over the next 2-3 years.![]()
Perfect compromise between saloon and estate. In the U.K. I mostly drove Vectra hatches and Mondeo hatches, I've still got my 52 plate Vectra Elegance which must be about the lowest mileage example in existence! I bought it when it was three years old, I've only lived in the U.K. for one year out of the last twelve!!
Anyway...most, if not all cars here are saloons, including European cars, Saabs, Fords, Opels, which, in my opinion is the least efficient of all car designs and on mid-sized cars tend to look uglier than the 5-door variants.
So yes...I'm liking the look of the 3...it's not for me, but I get it.
That said, BMW has got to be the exception...the 3 has always been a good looking saloon/sedan but have you seen those 'GT' variants? They look like late 90s Vectras.
As long as it's in the ballpark of $400K HKD and retains its hatchback styling, I'm sold. Anything more than that and it's competing with a lot of cars I wouldn't mind driving.
That's right...it ought not to be a luxury...as I've said before, I'd be happy to see an even more basic version, or perhaps a sports utility...and I mean ute!
My neighbours just got the 'S.U.V'...it's not an S.U.V. in as much as it will never be a place for sweats, equipment, dogs, etc...plus, it looks like something from Buck Rogers, 70s idea of what 'the future' would like...yuck....but that drivetrain...
