Updated: Car Key Duplication on Shan Tong Street

We unfortunately lost our spare key and had to venture out to the dark side to get a new spare made. Took a bit of walking around to find the right shop.

Address: 61 Shan Tong Street (as of Jun 2017 it is between a CPU shop and a pharmacy). Photo attached with contact info. Nice old grandma type lady who runs the shop and does the duplication.

Cost was $800 for a Hyundai 2010 Tucson.

Best to whatsapp the shop owner. She is not at the shop every day and depending on the car model will ask you to bring the car so that she can sync the key up with the radio signal the car sends out to authenticate the key.

In our case, she could not duplicate the remote control, just the car key - which is fine, we can unlock and drive with just the key.

@hkr28 asked a ton of people and seems like there are may be 1 or 2 of these shops left in HK. One of our friends did tell us that there are some ads in the local motoring magazines.. but did not get around to picking one up or trolling 28cars etc to find another HK side alternative.

Did not verify that the key shop on Argyle and Reclamation Streets could duplicate our cat key.

There is a shop there, but could not be bothered to go there and follow up once we found this person and she responded promptly to our whatsapp messages.
