Any thoughts on second hand cheap but not too cheerful electric cars? Just for popping to the shops and nipping to the gym.
BMW I3 is too ugly
Tesla too powerful
BYD Song looks OK apart from the stigma of owning a Chinese car

having driven a nice looking french car for a while (some time ago), i have lost faith in the quality consistency of french manufacturing... not to mention its something in the fairly unpredictable domain of electric vehicle..
purely scientific consideration, a car that is running on battery and can travel, e.g. 200km on a full charge, packs around 40kWh of energy based on the following assertions:
"Tesla Model S with 85 kWh battery has a range of 510 km (320 miles).
The supercar Rimac Concept One with 82 kWh battery has a range of 500 km. "
On which, 40kWh can be converted to 144m joules
https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/..._to_Joule.html
And on conversion to TNT equivalent,
144/4.184 = ~35kg of TNT
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TNT_equivalent
That's the energy you pack into a 200km electric vehicle...
Think i would try to avoid the lower quality manufacturing process for now.
Feel free to point out any mistake in the conversion.. just a simple 5 minute consultation with Dr G.

Think of it as a contribution to Berkshire and you'll be fine.BYD Song looks OK apart from the stigma of owning a Chinese car
e-Golf, Zoe or Leaf.
Comfort, range or price.
Got my 2nd hand e-Golf off:

I'd get either the E Golf or the Renault Zoe, which has benefited a lot from the Renault/Nissan marriage...
Both would be sensible range wise and very easy to live with. Imho
