I've only ever taken cash. Ideally done at the bank. More ideally, you and buyer both bank at the same institution.

Thank you. The potential buyer also asks for a copy of the Vehicle Registration Document. Is there any problem in giving it to him?

    A COPY should be fine.

When you ask for ID, also ask to see the drivers license. I think it's rather important.

Why not just sit in the passenger seat?

I did sit on the passenger's seat. I wasn't worried about being knifed in the car, but that people would take out their knife and force me out of the car, which would be less likely to happen if I took a photo of the IDs.

I ended up not taking a photo of the ID because the buyer seemed to be a sweet old lady who knew little about cars, accompanied by a skinny middle aged person who knew more and was helping her making a decision. Neither of them would have been able to overpower me, even with a big knife

Though when the lady drove the car I was scared to death of her driving skills

I hope they don't read this!

@Philips - You've obviously not watched enough crime family dramas to know that the grandmother is usually the cartel boss.
