How long to replace HK drivers licence?

Got IDP renewed last week for imminent Christmas trip, but now I can't find my licence and so am contemplating a renewal. Do I just drop the form to TD in Admiralty and wait for them to post it back to me, and if so how long do they take? Or do they do it on the spot?

Renewal was on the spot a few years ago. No clue what it is like these days. They don't have a published service standard for lost licenses...

Fill in form 106, bring proof of address. hand in form, pay money $110, wait for license to be made, name called to take License.

Time spent: on a good day maybe 15 mins wait / on a bad day you're looking at over an hour depending on how many people waiting in line

Bonus, you get a QR code on your new license for instant e-ticketing.

I would suggest to make an appointment and then drop in. With appointment it can be faster. Also best would be to check not only Admiralty transport department but also other licensing offices.

Book renewal online and save some time waiting in a queue.

It took less than 15 to renew mine.
