    7AM to 10:30AM, could've been worse I guess.

Went today at 7:15am and was done by 10am…very painful.

basically at 9am they give you the actual queue ticket and then u queue inside until they call your set of numbers.

Printing/photocopy shop on 2/F can take care of it for a reasonable fee…don’t know how some of you guys have the patience to queue for 3 hours+ in that shithole, lucky the rest of HK administration is usually much more efficient

    How much do they charge?

tbh I just don’t wanna hand my passport docs to them although I’m sure they are reliable

I went to TD in Admiralty today.

I transferred a retained number plate to a car and then transferred back again, so I can retain the number plates. Surprisingly, it only took about 10 mins.

I enquired about exchanging overseas license for HK license. They said the Morning quota was full and come back in the afternoon. I didn’t have time, so left.

Online bookings are full until 17th April 2025-

I don’t want to queue up at 7am.

What are the chances of snagging an afternoon ticket quota if you go and queue around 12 noon?

Do you pick up the licence on the same day, or do you need to wait about a week?

How much for the queuing service providers on the second floor?

I showed up just before 8am and was able to get out of there by 10am. On that day they still had a few spots for DL conversions left at 9am.

If you want to pick the licence up on the same day, you must pre-submit your application by email. The online approval process could take weeks though (I waited for 4 weeks and gave up).

If you don't have an online approval, then you need to come back for the licence about a week later. There are more spots for licence collections so you don't have to fight for a spot like the first time around.

If you intend to get a “walk in” ticket, there’s a quota for the morning and afternoon sessions. Queuing gangs are lining up at 7am, some even earlier. Many unscrupulous feckers are queuing up and making a quick buck, it’s near enough impossible to get a “walk in” ticket. There’s a gang advertising there services on little red book.

Make sure you get there early. They are asking $500 to $900 if you want to use their “queuing quota”. Each person in the queue is allowed to process 5 applications….highly unethical.

I’ve managed to book an online date for early June 2025 for Direct Issue of HK License. If you check daily, after midnight, there are dates available for early June 2025 (Earliest online booking approx 10 weeks)

This was from a local publication last week
