Direct issue of HK Driving Licence

    My wife had to have an interview as she direct converted with her old paper based driver's licence that did not contain a photograph. All they wanted to do is check her identity, and asked a few questions to that effect.

    yeah, I did the interview as well, since I applied without my DL card (it had lapsed) but a letter from my govt. agency confirming my eligibility for a license...about 5 mins of very minor questions...

    agreed - we picked up my wife's HK driving license yesterday and it reminded me of my school library card from 20 years ago !

    I am surprised that it does not have a photo ID.

    That's exactly what I thought when I got mine, it looks like a library card!
