Inexpensive Phone and prepaid SIM card - need suggestions

    Hi All,

Ok, don't blast me on this one folks.

I need an inexpensive phone for my child. (I don't think 10 year olds need phones back in the states, but since he will be taking the train to and from school, I would like him to have a form of communication.)

Just a phone that can make calls. Where can I go up in the Shatin area to find an easy phone. I have an Iphone that I paid out the wazoo for and I don't want to shell out any more $$$ on technology for now.

    Thanks in advance!

You can get a simple (branded) phone which is good enough for making calls and sending SMS messages for $200-300 from any of the street shops. Just ask them for the cheapest phone they have..

SIM .. plenty on offer at the local 7-11. Offers change often. Recommend you go with something from the same network as your own.

Yes - a Nokia 1200 series phone is about $250. Does calls, SMS, and even as an inbuilt torch.
