Working in Quarry Bay, need to rent flat with budget maximum $12,000 p/m, any suggestions?

Moving to Hong Kong in May, working in quarry bay and looking for 2 bedroom flat with maximum budget of $12,000 p/m, not having difficulty in far places but would like to stay near by (i.e. on the same blue mtr line)

any suggestions where is the best place to stay? wan chai seem to offer nice furnished flats for around $10,000, but i cant seem to find any better unless its unfurnished and very old.

im looking for a 2 bedroom furnished flat. thanks!

Furnished flats are rare and especially at your budget. I suggest you rethink your plan and island side they will be old flats.

yeh, i noticed that - any idea why most flats here are unfurnished? i never have a problem in UK finding furnished flats.

I have looked at some good furnished ones for my budget, its just a matter of whether anyone else had additional suggestions

In fact, U can easily find furnished apartment in Quarry Bay, 5 min. from Taikoo Place within your budget. IF you do not mind staying in flat with over 50 years history, and those so called furnished apartment is talking about boring chinese furniture which U would not appreciate. And U would not see any foreigner in that building. In fact, there is lots of "suite", I am not if this is the right term, i.e. the landlord would separate one apartment of 500 sq. ft into 3 suite, each with separate washroom and each of them is leased for about 3-4000 per month. Targeting the office workers of Taikoo Place who just go back to sleep. U can contact those agencies nearby. Rent in Quarry Bay should be cheaper than Wanchai.

Have you considered tseung Kwan O? 15 mins by MTR to QB.

There are plenty of new flats there easily within your budget.

i never have a problem in UK finding furnished flats.

I think that's to do with a tax allowance for furnished flats, rather than the kindness of the owner.

If you look for unfurnished your options will increase. Just check the classifieds for expat-leaving ads to furnish it.
