    exchanging foreign coins

I found out that I have a large amount of CAD coins at home, mostly in small denominations such as cents, pennies, dimes, quarters and also some 2 dollars, totalling about 6 CAD.

I don't think I will visit Canada or the US in the future. How can I get back something useful from the coins? For example, if I can exchange them for a 5 CAD note, I can happily deposit it into my bank.

I would say you can't. Banks don't like small notes or coins in foreign currency.

Put them in a bag and use them as a doorstop

Where were you 2 months ago when I went to Montreal? I would have offered you US$4 for the lot
