i would NOT choose Carrier. made by a poor chinese subcontractor. go ahead if you plan to move out in less than 2 years and don't care.

I'm really surprised at some of your utility bills. We're in 2bdm flat and 3 AC units. the living room AC unit is kept on 24 hours for the dog (at "efficiency setting" around 23 deg). we cook at home, use a clothes washer (7kg model), use 2-3 dehumidifiers as needed. DLNA server always-on. our E-bill is about 200-300.

mind you, i do try to prevent leakages (doors and windows) with insulation tape.

wow! how do you manage that? Do you have subsidies on your bills?

I live on my own, so tend to only have 1 or 2 aircons on when i'm home. They are turned off when at work during weekdays. I cook maybe 3 or 4 times a week. I have an air purifier but thats only on an hour each day. I have a washer/dryer but being just 1 person i would guess is used less than you.

And my latest electric bill was about HK$ 1500 (for 3 months)! I remember a couple of years ago there were subsidies which brought my bill down quite a bit.

Our bill was $565 last month with AC on 24/7. 2 adults and 2 kids. Home most of the day.

We just got a more efficient AC installed, hoping to get it down to $400.

Yes, but yours is $200-300 per month. and you leave an air con on 24 hours. and i am guessing you are a family so will likely use the other appliances more than me? Hence my surprise.

Apparently the won't send you a bill if it's below a set amount ($140 or so). They just roll it over to the next month.
