    To whoever is saving more than 60% in retirement, (i.e. drawing less than 1.6% of your nest egg) that is extremely impressive!

    Haha wow. almost 5% have at least HKD 100mm. That should be plenty enough to be in the "> 60% (Retired - Passive Income)" category.

    Lets take a hypothetic calculation.
    Retired, net worth 30 million, 20 million invested, average return 3.5%.
    10 million for the residential property to live, so no rent to be paid.
    That amounts to a disposable income of 58330$, out of which 40% are 23330.
    I need way less than that.
    Did I have 30 mio. net worth, I could save more than 60%.

    20 to 40% is not bad rate of savings.

    When I lived in HK i saved more than 50% of my salary. But made poor decisions when it came to investments.
