Buying drapes and blinds in Shenzhen

Hi....I'm here in Hong Kong until mid-summer and would like to have drapes and/or blinds made in Shenzhen to take home. I would appreciate hearing about any experiences, good or bad, that you've had as well as advice. I have measurements, specific details and I've dealt with tailors there so I am not coming into this situation totally blind. Thanks.

I have tried SZ and results were mediocre. Definitely cheap but I'd rather use someone in HK. You cAn avoid the hassle of travelling back and forth. I can recommend someone in mid levels. PM me if you're interested.

I've had a set of blinds made in Lowu and am fully satisfied with the quality and price - less than half of what it would have cost me in HK. Be wary of the really cheap shops as the quality and finishing of the mountings and fittings might not be as good as the more expensive ones - ie you get what you pay for. Visit as many of the shops as you can and speak with the people there so you can get a good idea of the price, quality and level of service. I normally dismiss straightaway those who are too eager for my business - you ask them for a price, when they give it the next thing they ask is "do you like it? do you want to place the order, we can have it ready for you tomorrow".

I've had curtains made as well and they've been fine.

Did you use the shops in Lo Wu or venture further out? Any pointers?
    Thanks.

I used the shops in Lo Wu. Will have to dig for store #s when i get home. There's one popular store on the 3rd floor, by the escalators near Taste restaurant. They are slightly more expensive than the other stores, but their fabric selection is unique. I ended up making my sofa covers from them and they did a fantastic job. I gave her the originals (which were poorly made from a store in Wanchai), the measurements of the sofa (she gives you a diagram on how to measure it) and she did a darn good job for half the price of HK.
