The purpose of an Air-Con is to keep the indoor air at a stable pleasant temperature.

The minimum requirement should be an inverter controlled unit.
    - More efficient
    - Quieter
    - Longer lasting
    - Better temperature control

Given that 50% of the population live in flats owned by (ruthless) landlords who will fit the cheapest piece of junk a good government would of nudged the minimum legal standards up so only inverter types were available in shops.

Where is the 'quieter'? Is the quietness located at the outside unit or inside the flat? Most of my interest is inside the flat, not out on the roof top, although my neighbors may hear the unit, since i certainly can hear theirs.

I bought a Carrier unit in the end. German Pool apparently is OEM by Midea.
