    Agreed, but making something like this with just pliers would likely not be possible, you’d need a bench vice and a hammer at least.

    I did this to find a very specific replacement spring. If you have one to show the shopkeepers, your chances are good that you can find it.

    Right, if you can bend the metal with pliers it means that it'll lose it's shape and become ineffective.
