Really slack reporting by the SCMP

This article is headlined:

"No Google Music for Chinese online fans"

The headline seems to suggest Chinese online fans are getting a raw deal by Google.

This backed up by the following:

"Smartphone users in China, already excluded from Apple's iTunes music service, have also been denied access to songs from Google's newly launched online music service."

And then"

"Consumers on the mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, like those in most markets worldwide, will initially be excluded from Google Music, which is currently being offered only in the United States through the Android Market, Google's online store for mobile applications, electronic books and videos."

Duh SCMP, its ONLY available in the US at present, its not China that's been excluded but the whole world apart from the US.

I play devil's advocate:

1. They did not say ONLY Chinese users are excluded.
2. They did say "Consumers on the mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, like those in most markets worldwide [...]"

So it seems to me the article is correct, and given that the SCMP is a local paper it should be expected that they focus on Chinese, which does not automatically mean it does not apply to others, too. In fact that is even hinted (see 2.)

You are probably right, I guess if kinda of read it as though it was the usual China is a victim against the world routine.
