How to deal with Hong Kong's domestic waste?

Hong Kong has a surprising high recycling rate. Much of it is done out of site in garbage sorting facilitates by some of the cities legions of very low paid workers.

the Environment Secretary is looking to introduce a waste disposal system to reduce the amount that goes into land-fill.

What are your thoughts and should it apply to every household or would it just to be difficult to administer for say subdivided flats?

Is this just another scheme to put money in the hands of the property cartels by allowing them to charge ever higher management fees?

Tell them mainland Chinese to "love the country" and take Hongkong's garbage. Tell them "Peking will love you for that patriotic act". Hey, we ship it to you for free, LOL.

You're right I guess...It must be the majority though...I'm afraid that the household levy would result in fly tipping.

I bet some want to say "Let's ship it to the mainland!". Problem solved...for them.

Pssst, that's what they were doing. Now it's overflowing in the New Territories. Until someone finds the right official to give a backhander to I guess.
