Ban the maids cause of the bus tragedy

    Yes, you heard it right:

Probably not going to pass, but the mere suggestion of it kind of shows what local politicians real colours are.

"Aquino has been humiliating Hongkongers," lawmaker Albert Chan Wai-yip, of People Power, said. "The government has the responsibility to take a tougher stance to penalise the country for its response to the tragedy."
The only people humiliating Hong Kong are those that react with hysterical outrage at every mention of the incident.

Anyway, never happen. Rich people might have to clean their own toilets.

Some of the quotes from the local lawmakers and other "public" people in that article are quite outrageous and basically fanning the flames.

Really sickening. Not only do they want to pick on the people who are not responsible for the tragedy but the ones least able to defend themselves.

I notice it has come in for some criticism, not because it's wrong but because it might affect HK residents. Amazing.

Are any politicians, anywhere, model citizens or big thinkers?

*Yawn*... some right wing radicals in HK wanting some publicity. All for show. They could have better use for their time, but I fear more what they could do if they really put their minds to something else that can make a difference.

It's like you get mugged in the US or even stabbed to death; should Obama apologize to Hong Kong if their police didn't catch the killer?

Notice how the families are goaded on by POLITICIANS to pursue this over the cliff instead of dealing with grief and moving on.

Did the families of the one of the Chinese girls who died in San Fran on that Korean flight sue the government of United States because their daughter was allegedly ran over by a fire truck?

Some of these HK politicians sees EVERYTHING as a chance to get at the current administration by asking the impossible. They only bark within HK at their own leaders at home and expect their leaders to have huge clouts over foreign leaders.

Bunch a' spoiled brats "if I can't be in charge, then no one can play!" is what they are.

You have the same in every countr..

Look at the FN (Front National) in France. Every time something happens involving a black or a norther african for example they will call on tougher immigration measures etc etc...

This is not about HK politicians but SOME HK politicians.

Dumbasses in my view but let's not make a generality out of two (yes two) politicians asking for such measure.

There are always outright dumb proposals by a number of politicians around the world. Why give this one credibility by seeking a forum on it ?

There are 2 people maybe in the whole of HK who agree to this proposal. There is no chance of it coming into discussion beyond the idiot who brought it up in Legco yesterday.

In saying that your analogy with the Korean air disaster or a murder in the US is naïve at best, ignorant at worst.
The former is still being investigated and there is no chance any government can be responsible for its citizens.

You don't seem to understand what is really behind the victims' families motive. The government mishandled the rescue of hostages. The government cannot be responsible for the gunmen, and everyone agrees, but can they not be responsible for the mishandling of the rescue ? It was terrible and the investigation proved so. Why can't the President say "sorry for the mishandling of the rescue attempt...", and move on.

That is all the families want and that's what irks the politicians that brought up this stupid motion and the members of the general public.
Is saying sorry so hard or being too proud to accept your mistake too big of a pill to swallow...?
