    Not sure what all the woohaa is about but AGAIN, these things were available when the British Army was in HK, quite a few of them based in Gun Club Hill Barracks at the back part facing Gascoigne road. , I grew up in the ARMY Barracks so saw plenty of them, the PLA probably brought some more or rotated them Just to show off but its noting new.

    These are so called required just in case HK gets invaded by a foreign country.

    It's interesting to note that pre-handover Deng Xiaoping stated he did not want any PLA troops stationed in HK. Unfortunately he and the party changed their mind by '97.

    They even sent troops into Macau upon its handover in 1999, which was a bit controversial because Macau hadn't had any military presence since 1974.
