No inconvenience caused. I live in East side and work in Quarry Bay. I support the students, short term inconvenience/pain for long term gain right?

On the upside, I've had a good excuse not to go to Causeway Bay....

Hey, its alright - I'll stay home and call instead
There are some things in business that can only be accomplished with a face-to-face meeting. Otherwise, why do we bother with business travel if everything can be done over a phone...

Visitors can't be blamed for being risk-adversed, although there should be more people here telling them the real situation in HK.

Whenever I get annoyed by the hassle of OC, I would walk down Harcourt road after work and observe the protesters. Watching them in person seem to melt away any frustration I have with the OC movement.

I don't know why exactly that is the case, maybe it reminded me that despite the cold and indifferent local attitude that one often deals with here, the OC movement showed me another face of locals, that there are actually so many caring folks here with a strong conscience. You can say the protesters are naive, but their messages are heart-felt and genuine. Sounds corny, but in a way that moved me. And in a cynical city like HK, it takes a lot to move me.

My daily life has not been affected at all because i live and work in Wanchai and walk to the office anyway.

My MPF and other asian investments have taken a massive hit though, not that i own much but it's all relative.

I know a shop owner in causeway bay whose sales has dropped so dramatically that bankruptcy is near. She has not a big business but a tiny shop selling fashion.

Now is the best time I can remember for years to visit Causeway Bay.

No traffic, little crowds, no queues in Sogo or the supermarkets and an almost total absence of our northern friends with their sodding wheelies.

    Enjoy it while it lasts.
