Yeah, forgot about it. Saw the crowds at the Pokfulam cemetery a little after that photo was taken.

Pretty much every hill in the New Territories seems to be burning right now.

By 6pm, 31 hill fires had been reported - three quarters of them in the New Territories. The hill fires at Kai Shan in Yuen Long, Sha Kok Mei in Sai Kung and Hung Shing Ye on Lamma Island were among the worst, and required assistance from the Government Flying Services firefighters.

There was a big one on Lantau we saw as we flew in last night. And could also see it from Gold Coast.

Southern flank of Kai Kung Leng (Rooster Ridge) was toasting well into the evening last night too.

You would think with the high fire warning raised locals may avoid lighting fires,
nah, that would be to logical!

Took the West Rail Line from Tuen Mun yesterday. Through the first several stops, so LOTS of fires, some quite large, on the hills north of the train line. Crazy.
We'd just been up in the mountains, very glad we didn't get caught in all of that. Some of the fire looked like it was spreading up the trails/drainage ruts very quickly.

They should have really big penalties for lighting fires when fire danger is high like they do in Australia. It's pathetic how much this is tolerated here.
