few weeks jail time and a hefty fine$$ then deported and maybe banned from re-entering HK for a few years.

He managed to drive 4.6km while seriously drunk and didn't have a 'major' incident? Better than most minibus drivers then

All challenges from behind are deemed a foul and a yellow card these days....

How about the two Welsh guys that kidnapped a fairy penguin from Sea World? They woke up the next morning and did not remember how the penguin got in their hotel. They panicked and released the bird, which had been hand cared for since birth, into the wild. Luckily someone found the bird before it was eaten, and returned it to SeaWorld.

Poor bloke was probably still drowning his sorrows from the Ashes cricket debacle...it drove me to drink.

But honestly, serves him right if he's well and truly locked away.

An Australian tourist who allegedly hijacked a minibus in Causeway Bay over the weekend had no money to free himself yesterday, despite being granted bail at Eastern Court.

Patrick Cunningham told the court through his lawyer that he was willing to offer HK$5,000 for bail, but he would not be able to pay up immediately as he had lost his wallet during the incident over which he was charged.

“Unfortunately, [my client] has no cash,” lawyer Matthew Chong Chun-sang said before asking Principal Magistrate Bina Chainrai to allow him to be released to contact his bank.

The 32-year-old assistant nurse faces one count of taking conveyance without authority, but was not required to enter a plea. He is accused of taking the minibus with plate number MB77 without the consent of its owner at 515 Lockhart Road on Sunday.
What the hell is conveyance without authority???!?
