But there is a finite amount of land. What happens when every square meter of land is developed? What happens to those people's kids? They are now left with no further development, no green space and a polluted environment.

Hong Kong is only 1000 sq km. It really doesn't need anymore new buildings, developments or population growth. Plenty of beautiful places in China to promote growth and development if that is what is needed. Don't forget in a few decades Hong Kong will fully be a part of China.

Good. But how many of these Save Lantau Alliance locals are registered, certified, franked, sanctified by the ages New Territories Indigenous Villager residents of the area under dispute? My educated guess is zero.

Because in these games it's one thing to protest for a noble cause and it's another thing to hold all the political and administrative trump cards.

Ok, I will agree with higher quality housing. So tear down old, existing buildings and rebuild. Just leave what little land is left be, and don't add additional housing units that aren't needed. You won't need guns to thin the population, pollution and suicide will take of that if you keep adding people to an already overpopulated region.

No arguments there. Just leave what little green space is left alone. As it is we have 7+ million people sharing less than 1000 sq km of open space. Kids can barely find a patch of grass to play soccer on. No need to concrete over anymore land IMO
