There is plenty out there saying the exact same thing. It looks like mercantile imperialism using unequal contracts to potentially force servitude or unequal treaties for land use rights

Even the IMF has issued warnings over the levels of debt. One poster on this thread suggested that it was crazy to think a '200 million bridge in the Maldives puts the debt-to-gdp ratio at nearly 100% where the economy is estimated to be around $5 billion'. The presenter did not say that. He said the building of the bridge pushed the debt through an emotional barrier, to suggest otherwise is probably just disingenuous and much worse than the original quick fire journalism.

I try to look at policy and this looks like mercantile imperialism, wouldn't you agree?

China Uncensored randomly popped on my youtube last year, I thought it was a quaint little show hosted by a hirsute Stephen Miller. It's similar to to Colbert and Oliver's show but targeted against China, with twice the snark but none the charm,

What made Colbert and Oliver's satires work, is that for every segment about some foreigners and their funny foreign ways, there's nine other segment where they made fun of their own respective countries. It works because when it's self-deprecating, it takes the edge of the more offensive humour. CU attacks China with laser-eyed precision, and the joke ceases to be funny or informative when it has an obvious political agenda.

We already have a fake news problem that some media are trying to fight with fact-checking. Fighting fake news by flooding the channels with even more fake news just compounds the problem.

Post better quality news. Articles from Foreign Policy, yes please. China Uncensored financially backed by a cult? No thank you.

You stated the you tube clip had me flustered. I have many emotional states from mildly amused right through to somewhat disappointed. You replied with someting unrelated. I am not sure why you think a mainstream TV satire on a pluralistic political system needs to be compared to a niche vodcast about a single political system. Whataboutary?

I have and you have ignored them. Again what was fake about the content of the video on you tube?

3:02, quoting the Daily Caller, a website known to peddle conspiracy theories. It's also a great news source if you're into Climate Change denial.

    Should I keep going?

There are quite a few reports out there that suggest indebtedness to China was a key factor in the creation of a military base.

Nah, none of your sources establish that indebtedness was the key factor that lead to a base in Djibouti. In actual fact, the US, France, Great Britain, Japan, Saudi Arabia also have military bases in Djibouti. The only thing you have is an opinion piece in the Japan times making the claim that Djibouti had no choice but to accept. However, no sources were provided. Iffy at best. I think you actually agree, hence your usage of the term "suggest".

You know, you can just admit that China Uncensored is fake news and we can move on.
