Ahh I think this is my fault, I turned up having about 2 hours sleep and with a raging hangover.

The new design looks pretty shitty and not much different from the current one, the fonts etc look the same to me and quite outdated already as if its been done by a typewriter. If they are going to spend 4 years and how many millions replacing them at least change the fucking font. Or put a QR code on it so we can scan and add it into wechat. Or make it a vertical card like that new Standard Chartered credit card. Do something for fucks sake.

What happened to the idea of having a chip inserted under the skin?

Having say a 3' range would be very useful for tracking the movement of society. No more getting your wallet out for immigration just walk walk through a scanner with facial recognition capability. Same could be done for all the walk-ups that are blighted with underworld activity, etc

Not so much FUD as the police / immigration will need new scanners to derive benefits for society. If you believe this is FUD then....

Hong Kong ID card replacement programme?

Any idea as to when we're likely to be called up if they're doing this in batches?

We're based in the UK, holders are born in the 70's.

I understand it starts in quarter 4 of 2018?

Would we get the communication based in the UK?

If they use the same mechanism as the last round of issuance, then people in their mid thirties will be the first age group to be called up as they are deemed to travel the most. So someone born in around 1983 will be the first round. So you can make a guess on when you will be called. No there won't be any communications in the UK but it's no big deal if you miss your call up period.

Allow you to cobrand it and include marvel characters in the 3d image hologram? Look from the right, you see bdw - look from the left you see Ironman.

    Missed opportunity I tell ya!

cant change it too much, has to work with all those existing e-channels readers, or will they spend a few more billion upgrading them.
betting the new card will not work in macau e-channel
