You'd have thought by now anyone considering high office would have learnt the lesson - remove illegal structures before your start date!

Oh, wait, keeping your nice illegal structure and just explaining you didn't understand the law/structures/construction is cheaper and easier....

If we were getting intelligent, competent qualified people into the Government...... perhaps they would take a few moments to think about the increased level of scrutiny their position would entail.

However, we get fucking idiots like ex Development Secretary Paul Chan running subdivided flats

Chan family investments make for some interesting reading | South China Morning Post

and two CEO candidates both with illegal structures.....

    Lions lead by Beijing's donkeys.

To put it another way, if the people in government were in any way concerned about accountability - if there was any chance they'd, say, lose a future election because they screwed up...

I guess the sad part is no one expects a Beijing appointed administrator to be brought to justice.
It'll be swept under the carpet.

After Article 23 reporting such stories will probably be unpatriotic

She could stand in the middle of Lockhart Road and shoot somebody, and she wouldn't lose any voters, okay?
