A 64-year-old JoyYou Card holder and punter, Cheung, said it is unfair that he must pay the full fare of HK$ 16.60 for his weekly commute to the racecourse while his elders enjoy a HK$2 fare.

"I don't understand why they're setting the eligibility for certain concessions at 65 when they give the card to people 60 years old and above," he said. "They should just let all of us enjoy the same perks. It's unfair and confusing."
I know the perfect solution. Increase the JoyYou card age to 65 to be consistent. That immediately cures the discrimination, the unfairness and the confusion. 10 months or 4 years don't seem like a big difference to them so I'm confident they will be convinced this is a good solution >.<

Shouldn't LegCo question this poor use of the publics money?

Wasn't going to but for wolfstreet article reminding me of your qn here, too funny. Serious ans to ur qn above in case you asked it seriously and not sarcastically - Legco shouldn't and they wouldn't for sure. I can guarantee that. Cuz why would Legco question themselves why they spent it so poorly. Obviously they must have spent it thinking it was a good use of it.

Like wolfstreet article - why is the question repeatedly what were they thinking? The answer is staring you in the face. They either weren't thinking at all which means they thought it didn't need further thought or they did think and arrived at the wrong conclusion. Can ppl who couldn't get it right the first time have the ability to reflect and audit why and where they didn't get it right - how can the answer be a yes to for any scenario..

We do tend to keep defaulting to a conclusion that flies in the face of all facts avail.. trying to decide if it is severe confirmation bias or hope or denial..😅

They have it all wrong, obviously another case of insufficient national security. Still, an isolated incident, at least for now.
