Govt doing all it can ahead of typhoon: Carrie Lam - RTHK
...she urged people living in low-lying areas, such as Tai O and Lei Yue Mun, to take all the precautions they can to mitigate the effects of potential flooding.

She added that officials will arrange for coaches to evacuate Tai O residents if there's a need.

Nothing is for sure, typhoons don't follow orders.

Remove the 'for sure' and reference @hullexile comment. I PREDICT T8/worse on Sunday but much will depend on what happens to the typhoon after crossing Luzon.

T8 on Sunday/Monday seems inevitable at this stage, if only because of the massive gale radius...

I reckon we'll have T10 on Sunday evening/Monday morning (early hours)... high tide is just after midnight I think...

I changed my flight to depart tomorrow night instead of Sunday night, I did not want to be stuck in the bloody airport all night.

HK gets power via coal, gas and nuclear. Local and from China. The vast majority of lines are underground.

if you live in a village then power outage is a possibility but in a high rise, very unlikely.

What exactly do you do if the winds break and the rain is pouring in?
