What is it with some HK people who watch videos on their mobile device without using headphones?
see this on the MTR and bus and this behaviour is irritating. nobody cares about what you are watching.

Its usually the Older folks that doesnt bother with Headphones, once in a while I do shout "Turn that shit off" in Cantonese, that usually scares them into lowering the volume.
On my ferry it's the old people- in some cases, I don't even know if they can hear the noise the game is making, they are likely half-deaf as when they get a phone call they literally shout into the phone.
It's the full volume music being played when you are on a hike in a peaceful country park. Pisses me off...
I need to go our GZ office regularly and this crap annoys the shit out of me - doing whatever people do on the trains, subway, with their phones on speaker whether watching videos, playing games but the absolute worst is talking on the phone on speaker. The Chinese are loud enough without the need for further amplification. On the through train I need a good noise cancelling earbuds else I’ll go nuts. HK is getting worse with the trend being Bluetooth loud speakers on bikes.
I was on holiday recently in Hanoi and on the second night returning to my hotel room I hear Chinese music coming from the room next to me. Oh no I thought! The noise was unbearable with the music non stop until wee hours, people coming and going slamming doors yelling in common areas through out the night. Yes phones on speaker. The second night I paid 2x to get moved to the top floor honeymoon suite.
Locals don’t give a txss. Yes it’s annoying but they don’t see it as bad manners. Simply, not aware of their surroundings and how their actions affects others. Public transport in Japan is bliss.
