‘Lazy’ HK Gov must introduce upskirt photos law

'Lazy' govt must introduce upskirt photos law: DAB
"The government is very lazy. They don't have a pinpoint law for this kind of criminal offence so they just use this access to a computer with criminal or dishonest intent to charge. Under this law, the highest penalty will be [a fine of] HK$5,000 and five years [in prison]," Quat said at the protest.

5 years in prison seems a serious enough penalty to me

Wouldn't that be discriminatory without matching uppants photo laws? Makes me feeling really unprotected.

Surely if you are worried about people taking photos up your skirts you wear longer skirts? Otherwise who the hell cares? I wear short dresses but always with shorts underneath. If someone takes a photo up my dress they are hardly going to see anything exciting. Does need to have some common sense.

I’m really glad they had this march and I hope the government actually does something.

The law that was previously used, access to a computer with criminal or dishonest intent, was ruled to not be applicable when using ones own phone/computer so all upskirt photos would be legal now. The govt. said it will try to charge someone with breach of the peace, which is extremely vague and seems unlikely to stick.

Upskirt photos are a violation of privacy. This is not about a bit of flash from bending over. This is about people using devices like shoe cameras and planted mirrors to deliberately target girls in school uniforms as well as adult women and then uploading the photos to porn sites.
