The parking situation is just silly in HK. Although they will never piss off the car sellers and restrict the number of cars in HK, they should. It'll also become another investment option.

I love the way that some train stations in Japan e.g. Osaka, are just huge underground spaces connecting several malls and they have loads of small restaurants and shops in the passage ways.

They should try this type of thing more in HK. It can be more edgy and experimental for art, performances, shops, restaurants. A proper underground music venue.

in Hong Kong it would end up as a crappy design with low ceilings, poor air quality, bad signage, under K11 is a typical bad Hong Kong "design"

The one in YMT is due to get knocked down soon.

    735 spots in Middle Road
    770 spots in YMT

1500 spots of just plain old car parks gone from the TST area. There really should be a lot more sensible park and ride spaces but non planned that I can see.

    Yes

1500 spaces gone in a few years. Great for developers who own shopping malls in the district.

    $37/hour at K11

Ouch 37 an hour at k11. Another reminder of why should just Uber to TST any time you need to go there by car.

This wont be an issue in 10 years when your driverless car can drop you off in the center of TST and then go and park itself somewhere cheaper a few km's away. Or rent itself out as a driverless uber for a few hours while you shop, earning you an extra side income. Get rid off all the carparks now, great forward thinking and planning by the HK government!

Yup driverless uber/taxis. The taxi union will make HK the slowest country to adopt that. Not really a huge advantage to own your own car if they can just have luxury tiers.
