    Fishing is a vested interest with votes in the CE election and functional constituency. As such they are very well taken care of. For example the government handed them $1.8 billion when the trawling ban came into effect.

    @TheBrit - There are more Chinese navy ships in the waters where these fishermen operate than say any other Asian country.
