Maybe someone should remind them that these (widely popular) people they're now detaining are being arrested for trying to prevent the rulers from making a huge mistake with that extradition bill...

They had the popular mandate to do so, but that mandate wasn't allowed to be manifested in the legislature(!)

Reason (excuse) for the mass arrests?

Debby is a really fantastic person. I've seen her get results in my community with perserverence to solve problems. She speaks clearly and articulately, perhaps due to her studies in Germany. Sai Kung would be very lucky to have her.

wouldnt be surprised to see these cancelled (can they do that?) or postponed after todays events.

The protestors should have taken a step back for a couple of weeks until these were done as not only would it reduce the risk of postponent but with every arrest and detention they have one less voter (presumably) voting.

It might come as a surprise but there are polling stations in prison.

Polling hours: 7:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. (except for dedicated polling stations situated in prisons where the polling hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
