As an Expat/Civilian.... Where do I avoid?

    Hi!

I am an Expat living in Happy Valley. Last week I walked by a protest by mistake and got kind of tear gassed... and I would like to avoid that moving forward!

Where are the general areas for non-protesters to avoid? Plus, I have two people visiting from out of town this week, and want to make sure I don't accidentally walk them into something.

    Thank you so much!!

The south side has been and may remain tear gas free.

Take a mini-bus or taxi from HV to Stanley / Repulse Bay / Peak etc, via Blue Pool Rd.

Come to the tear-gas-free outlying islands for a day trip!

    "kind of tear gassed"

    I like that phrasing.

Anything beyond Taikoo Shing also relatively calm so far, good time to head to Big way bay/ Shek O beach (From Shau kei wan) if weather permits..

If you have an extreme aversion to tear gas you are limited to rather few districts, basically sai kung, outlying island and south side.

Why don't you just bring a gas mask along when you head out ?
