I felt sad and homeless, yesterday

Having your roots and everything here in Hong Kong, well adjusted to the lifestyle and know your way around.

Hong Kong is the place I consider and call my home. I am a foreigner at face - I don't have to justify being from somewhere else or my reasons for being here in Hong Kong, the simple fact is that Hong Kong is my home. I have made the move to HK and made it my home, to the point to where I don't feel that I have roots or a home elsewhere.

Hong Kong government and China literally ripped this concept of home from millions of people, now I question where is my home and where are my roots, it brings much sadness to mind.

Even though I will be leaving HK soon, I am not returning "home", I am venturing to a new place albeit with a bit of lost soul at heart. It is so sad to see all the happy memories here enjoyed over the years just taken away almost overnight by a selfish government.

On the plus side, you know where you can go and a friendly group and a cold pint will be ready for you on Tuesday and when you return.

Growing up, how many people in your peer group can claim that about Hong Kong?

Once you've completed your move you will discover after a while that closing the door of your home in HK has enabled you to open the door of your new home (wherever it will be).

Life's too short to be bitter about forces beyond your control. Find happiness wherever you are going. No one can steal your good memories. Hold on to them but don't live in the past. Put your energy into creating new memories.

Home is wherever you feel a belonging. I grew up in UK and moved to HK. And actually, if the right opportunity came up, I would love to explore and move somewhere else.

Its like a girlfriend/boyfriend, you have memories with each one so you find it hard to move on and be with a new one. But once you start making memories in a new place, it will start to feel a lot like home
