AmCham Macau Ball affected...
https://news.rthk.hk/rthk/en/compone...6-20191207.htmThe president of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Hong Kong said on Saturday she was denied entry to Macau after being detained for around two hours by immigration officials.
Tara Joseph, an American citizen who was travelling to the former Portuguese colony of Macau for the AmCham Macau Ball, told Reuters that authorities did not provide a reason for refusing to allow her entry.
The chamber said its chairman, Robert Grieves, was also denied entry to Macau.
https://news.rthk.hk/rthk/en/compone...0-20191209.htmMacau Secretary for Security Wong Sio-chak has said that only security is taken into account when deciding whether to bar someone from the SAR, after two senior officials at the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong were refused entry.
Wong declined to comment specifically on the cases of AmCham president Tara Joseph and chairman Robert Grieves, who were detained at the border and sent back to Hong Kong on Saturday. The pair had been attempting to attend an AmCham ball.
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-u...-idUSKBN1YO1UN If a normal human-being reaction to get worried about events in a city with so much international interest (including American) is considered interference by CCP - a clear sign to withdraw the interest. Being international, open for business, two system-supportive means opening the virtual borders for the world to see, review, comment and advise. The opposite means there is no openness. Who still has a doubt? Probably no one.
