Unfortunately the answer seems to be here. Remember your risk tolerance and keep your eyes open if you happen to be in the area.

Handling a bunch of middle aged people...

Unnecessary to say the least, though that particularly prominent expat cop only tends to turn up at peaceful rallies to disperse them violently.

Police charged in from the Salisbury Road side. Middle-aged (the usual non violent protester) bunch fought back with their brolleys. Tear gas fired.

Meanwhile prominent expat cop and 5 officers are still stuck in the middle of the Garden after they took someone away to stop and search them. Smart.

Feels very much like they are provoking/inviting violence. Confronted with “neutral police using minimal force”, can one really fault tolerance for “fire magicians”?

It's amazing how shambolic police tactics are.
Commander Mr. Expat cop is stuck in the middle of the square after stopping and searching someone.
Small group charges from one side while blocking traffic and then firing tear gas into traffic.
That's all happening while a bigger contingent is standing-by by the harbour doing nothing.

It's like no one knows what the other group is doing...

Riot police holding cordons at various points down Nathan Road. Police move up the street, crowd reoccupies behind them. Rinse and repeat.
